Nicie Phillips has been selected as the new Executive Director of the Beaufort Digital Corridor.
Phillips moved to Beaufort this past year from the Pacific Northwest where she was Dean of Students at Pacific Bible College in Medford, OR. She also has extensive experience in the private sector working for DuPont Pharma, among other companies.
The country’s fastest growing sport is also the Lowcountry’s.
“I have heard of pickleball, but have no idea what it is,” many comment when the subject arises. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America! It is described as a cross between tennis, ping pong and badminton. Played on courts smaller than tennis courts, the ball is plastic with holes in it, like a wiffle ball.
Who doesn’t like an occasional weird word or two? When it comes to telling people off, we need to keep our sense of humor and perhaps tell them to get lost with quaint, if perhaps obscure language. I’d like to offer up a few real suggestions along this line and then add a few of my own (with a little poetic license).
Beaufort History Museum Opens Fort Fremont Exhibit

Visitors to Beaufort History Museum are invited to explore the history of Fort Fremont, a fortification built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Saint Helena Island in 1898, by viewing a special exhibit that displays award-winning images and a modern instructional video featuring exclusive drone photography of the site.
