HELP Beaufort Garden ClubThe Beaufort Garden Club, 100 Women Who Care, and the Lowcountry Master Gardener Association band together to give a big helping hand to ‘HELP of Beaufort’, a local food pantry and assistance organization in Port Royal.

At the annual holiday meeting of The Beaufort Garden Club, the entrance fee is a bag of groceries to be donated to HELP. Even though there was no in-person holiday meeting this year, Club President, Anna Maragos, organized a semi-meeting in a parking lot for each member to bring a bag of groceries.  The trunk and back seats of Anna’s car were loaded with many, many bags of groceries, which she then delivered to

HELP 100 Women Who CareHELP.

The 100 Women Who Care selected ‘HELP’ to receive this quarter’s donation; $11,500.00. Each member donates a quarterly check for $100.00 to a local Beaufort charity and in these extraordinary times, HELPing those in need is a prime directive. One woman can make a HELP LMGA picking orangesdifference. Women together can make a huge difference.

A Lowcountry Master Gardener Association member invited fellow Master Gardeners to her back yard to harvest her bountiful crop of citrus to donate to HELP. They filled bags and bags of Kishu Clementines, Blood Oranges and Meyer Lemons, which were brought to the HELP headquarters.

It’s reassuring that in these divisive times, people with differing views can work together for a common good.
