A dodo bird crashed into my mailbox last week. A handwritten note from a “Ms. Wilson.”  No, not some long lost friend from school. Not a creative inmate wanting help.  As The Guardian noted recently, “Writing letters to complete strangers can make the world a better place.”  

For the second straight year, the Barbers of the Lowcountry’s Clipper Cup charity golf tournament exceeded its donation goal for Bluffton Self Help. The second annual tournament raised $3,000 for the Bluffton non-profit this year, an amount that is $500 more than tournament organizers had targeted. This year’s donation follows similar success from the inaugural event, which contributed $2,000 to Bluffton Self Help in 2018.

The Low Country Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter is collecting gently used purses as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. The purses will be donated to Hopeful Horizons in Beaufort.
